2022 Utah proclamations for family strengthing month

Follow the most recent dedications your local representatives have taken against abuse and how they’ve chosen to help strengthen families this month. The fight to identify and minimize abuse and neglect in Utah homes has never been stronger as more local, county, and state organizations have joined the partnership to strengthen Utah families.

What Are Protective Factors?

The 5 Protective Factors is a research-based framework which identifies 5 of the most important aspects proven to contribute to safe and emotionally stable homes.

Abuse and neglect are sometimes not as obvious it may seem and can unfortunately come as the result of new parents simply not having the right tools or support.

Parents who develop Protective Factors teach their children the same life skills and positive coping techniques, leading to healthier and more confident families. Looking at the list you probably recognize which Protective Factors you’ve naturally developed and which you know you could use some support.
