How Can I Volunteer?

to recieve volunteer opportunities via email There is minimal paperwork to be completed. For volunteers over the age of 18, we will need a copy of your driver's license or Utah State I.D. card. This is for the Background Criminal Investigation check and is required by law for anyone working with children.
You can make a difference in a child's life. Here is how you can help:
There are many ways to volunteer and help out in our Crisis Nurseries, playing with and supervising children ages 0 to 11 years. When you have a few hours, call to see if there are any children in the nursery that you can play with or supervise.
Help for 10 consecutive weeks, two hours per week, to assist house parents with children whose parents are attending parenting classes.
Other ways you can spend time volunteering at the Family Support Center:
- Help us with yard work and other household maintenance that will enhance the stay of the children in the Crisis Nursery.
- Take a copy of our "wish list" and conduct a drive to items on the list (for example: diapers, wipes, formula, paper products)
- Help out in the Family Support Center booth at community resource fairs, handing out flyers and answering people's questions about our agency.
- Help with celebratory events for children and families such as putting together Easter Baskets or helping with Christmas and Thanksgiving Dinner.
The minimum age for a volunteer at the Family Support Center is 14, however a volunteer must be at least 18 to work directly with children. We work with:
- High schools and colleges to help fulfill volunteer credits
- Scouting groups and scouts working on Eagle Projects
- Church and civic groups
