Pinwheels for Prevention
Every child deserves to grow up safe.
Each April, thousands of blue pinwheels are planted across the country to recognize Child Abuse Prevention Month as a reminder that supporting families early keeps children safe.
This April, the Family Support Center is planting pinwheel gardens throughout Salt Lake Valley, partnering with cities and community leaders to make child abuse prevention visible, local, and real.

WHY THIS MATTERS
In 2025, 8,622 children in Utah were confirmed victims of abuse or neglect.
Child abuse prevention begins long before a report is made. When parents are overwhelmed, isolated, or facing financial stress, support can make all the difference.
Family Support Center provides that support through crisis childcare, housing, and parenting education so families can find stability before situations escalate.
In 2025 alone, our Crisis Nurseries provided 2,742 visits for children whose parents needed temporary, safe care during times of stress or emergency.
Prevention works when communities invest in families early.
