#ProtectThemAll- Take the Pledge
In 2019 there were 4,033 confirmed victims of child abuse in Salt Lake County alone, across the entire state of Utah there were 10,950. Each number represents an innocent child; a unique child with a name and a desire to be loved. Even one number, one child, is unacceptable and we need your help. We hope you will join us in recognition of April’s Child Abuse Prevention Month in a pledge to #ProtectThemAll. Below you will find various ways you can engage with us this month, including a pledge, a promise that you will keep your kids safe.
We additionally hope to raise $4,033, one dollar to represent every child that was a confirmed victim in Salt Lake County. These proceeds will be used to help us further our mission of Protecting Children and Preventing Child Abuse. For the remainder of April 2020, Rocky Mountain Power will be matching all donations up to $1,500. This means your donation will go twice as far thanks to our generous sponsor, Rocky Mountain Power!
#PlantPrevention- Show your support for child abuse prevention by planting your own pinwheel garden
Did you know that a blue pinwheel is the symbol for Child Abuse Prevention? You can help us raise awareness by planting your own pinwheel garden, a representation of both your promise to protect your own children and your advocacy for those who are left unprotected. Here are 5 ways you can plant your own pinwheel garden:
Purchase pinwheels through Smiles.Amazon or through Oriental Trading, have them shipped to you, and plant them!
Download, print, and color our pinwheel coloring page. After you’ve completed your work of art hang it in your windows for people to see!
Cut your own pinwheels and tape them up in your window or string them into a garland! Here’s a tutorial!
Make your own window paint and paint pinwheels on your windows! Here’s a DIY!
Draw pinwheels with crayons, pencils, or even sidewalk chalk! Here’s a tutorial or two on how to draw a simple pinwheel!
Take photos and send them to us at info@familysupportcenter.org or tag us on social media platforms and use the hashtags #PlantPrevention, #ProtectThemAll, and #KeepThemSafe to spread the message.
